Performance Enhancement

Are you an athlete or a creative performer who struggles with blocks, anxiety, and self-sabotage? Are you wanting to improve your performance and feel stymied by your own anxiety, fear, and negative self-talk? Maybe you have a sports injury or have experienced a professional “blip” that is leaving you discouraged, depressed, and anxious? 

 

Therapy can be helpful in exploring where these blocks come from and how to process them in a way that allows you to perform more effectively in the future.

Modalities used to address performance issues:

  • CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to explore distorted cognitions, emotions, and maladaptive behaviors associated with the performance issues.

  •  Psychoeducation regarding the mind/body connection

  • Somatic exercises to teach your nervous system to stay within the “window of tolerance” for success 

  • EMDR  to unblock past distressing experiences linked to your performance issues that are impacting you in the present
